R. Dorrine Whysong
ASHTABULA –R. Dorrine Whysong, 85, of Wilson Avenue passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born August 3, 1926 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Ebert) Warren, and was a lifelong area resident. Dorrine graduated from Edgewood Senior High School, class of 1944. She married the love of her life Harry L. Whysong on September 12, 1944. Dorrine worked in the office at JcPenny for 25 years, she retired in 1985.
In her early years, she attended Eastside Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing BINGO, and watching game shows on TV, especially Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also liked taking casino bus trips and traveling, especially their winter trips to see her brother in Florida. Dorrine was a wonderful and caring person that always thought of others before herself. She was greatly admired by her grandchildren and will forever be missed. Her survivors include two grandchildren, Tina (Rick) Kaydo and David L. (Theresa) Whysong, both of Ashtabula; five great-grandchildren, Ricky Kaydo and Teara, Davey, Nikkie, and Isaiah Whysong; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harry L. Whysong, on January 21, 2010; son, David Craig Whysong on September 23, 2005; sister, Beulah Sowry; brothers, Clettus and Clayton “Curly” Warren; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11 am at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Rd, Ashtabula, with Deacon Richard Johnson presiding. Burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am at the funeral home.
