Ashtabula- Amy L. Slider- Cardera, 35, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, June 16, 2012 at her home. She was born, January 4, 1977 in Ashtabula, the daughter of John Johnson and Nancy Slider. She had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident. Amy graduated from Harbor High School and The Ashtabula County Vocational School where she took cosmetology courses. She married Jose Cardera, Jr. on August 28, 2004. She enjoyed animals, cooking, reading, listening to music and spending time with her children. She is survived by her husband, Jose Cardera Jr.; her mother, Nancy Slider (Sue Phillips)of Ashtabula; her children,Alissa Marie and Marcus Lee Cardera; step-brothers, John Jr. and Jason Johnson; cousins, Karen Thomas and Becky Summers; good friends, Michelle Bernardo and Jennifer Scafuro; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Amy was preceded in death by her father, John Johnson; and her maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with Rev. Joyce Perry officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5:00 pm until the time of service at 7pm. Inurnment will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
