Donna Evans

ASHTABULA - Donna Kathleen Evans, 57, was called to her heavenly home by her Lord on Monday, April 24, 2017 while residing at Country Club Retirement Campus. The daughter of Donald E. and Ida (Stinson) Evans, Donna was born on October 23, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio. Donna and her family moved to Jefferson, OH. She attended Jefferson Area Schools where she excelled in music and played clarinet in the band, graduating in 1978. Donna was a member of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church. A woman of many interests and talents, Donna enjoyed singing inspirational gospel music, teaching, playing the guitar and organ. She also enjoyed flower gardening, and pop artists such as Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind and Fire, and Lionel Richie; watching Stephen King movies and Mama’s Family. Her caring, altruistic, charismatic outlook lead her to study in healthcare and later work as a healthcare assistant at the Brown Memorial Hospital. She loved the internet as well and was very computer literate. She especially was interested in fashion. Donna at one point, modeled for Fashion Bug in the Ashtabula Mall in the early 2000's when it opened. She always looked her best and was conscious about the trending holiday collections. Donna was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, and grandma. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed the time she shared with them. Donna lives on through her sons, Arthur (Amy) McClain, Jr. of Ashtabula and Cameron McClain of Los Angeles, CA; her beloved princess granddaughter, Sarah McClain also of Ashtabula; her siblings, Donald Evans, Jr of Ashtabula, Vivian Evans - (John) Hughes, of Erie, PA, Dale (Michael) McCombs also of Ashtabula, Daphne Evans of Green Brae, CA, and Arthur (Susana) Evans of Lockville, MD; many loving nieces and nephews and her former husband, Arthur McClain, Sr. of Ashtabula .Memorial Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio. Rev. Dr. German Womack will officiate. A calling hour will be observed from 10:00AM until time of services at 11:00AM at the church.
