Frank Vivo

Frank D. Vivo, 66, of Bradley Brownlee Rd in Cortland, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, July 29, 2017 at his favorite away from home place at their campsite in Ashtabula, Ohio. Frankie was born on May 11, 1951, the son of Frank D. and Ellen Bisso Vivo in Youngstown. He grew up on the south side of Youngstown where as a child he was active with the neighborhood kids, in Little League Baseball, riding bikes and always enjoying his friends.
He was a member of the Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1969 and enjoyed attending his class reunions. After high school he proudly served our country in the US Air Force Reserves at the Vienna Air Force Base.
On October 21, 1983 he married the love of his life the former Marsha Burns and they made their home in Cortland. He was employed before retirement for 34 years at Century Link, formerly Sprint and he was a Lieutenant in the Cortland Volunteer Fire Department before retiring after 10 years. He was a member of VFW Post 6846 in Geneva, Ohio, Sons of Italy Post 875 in Sharon, PA, Moose Club in Mecca, Ohio, and a member of Kister Campground. He enjoyed his retirement traveling with his wife Marsha, spending the weekends at Camp Kister, but mostly he enjoyed living life and his grandchildren.
Frank leaves behind his wife Marsha, two sons Frank (Vanessa) Vivo of Lombard, IL and Sam Ciavarella of Boardman, Ohio and two step daughters Shelly (Eric) Ruschak of Brookfield and Lori (Paul) Gedeon of Cortland. He leaves his sisters Stella Betsa of Canfield, Mary Ellen Lang of Austintown, Carmel Brinson of Hardeeville, SC and brothers John (Sterling Anderson) Vivo of Youngstown and James (Mark Hanson) Vivo of Savannah, GA. He leaves his grandchildren Jake, Meggin and Nick Goodworth, Eric Jr. and Alyson Ruschak, Xander and Addison Gedeon and Bianca Rinchiuso. He leaves his father-in-law Vince Burns of Youngstown, sister in law Debbie Burns of Champion. He leaves 14 nieces and nephews, 22 great nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece and three great-great nephews, the Fifth Generation of his family along with many cousins, aunts and uncles and many great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece Marie Betsa, two nephews Billy and Michael Betsa, his mother-in-law Lorena Burns and brother-in-law Ronald Burns. As per Frankie�s wishes there will be no services or calling hour. Private family burial will take place at a later date.
