D. Nik Tressler
ASHTABULA - David "Nik" Tressler, 69, passed away August 21, 2017 at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born on April 7, 1948 in Meadville, PA the son of Clarence Tressler and Margaret (Harvey) Niemi.
Nik married Deborah Boyd-Tressler on August 18, 1979, and they just recently celebrated thirty-eight wonderful years together.
He worked many years as a teacher for A-Tech, Adult Basic and Literary Education, Ashtabula Area City Schools, Geneva Area City Schools, YMCA as a child care provider, and the YO-Program.
He volunteered with the Ashtabula Arts Center, ABOB Conneaut, and Wellness & Total Learning Center.
He sang with many groups: Good Life Singers, Ashtabula Choral Music Society, Messiah Choir, The Baha�i Gospel Choir, Allegheny College Choir, and he toured with the International voices of Baha.
He is survived by his wife Deborah Boyd-Tressler; sons, Eric (Molly) Tressler, Christopher Boyd-Tressler, and Benjamin Boyd-Tressler; daughter, Dr. Andrea Boyd-Tressler; mother, Margaret Niemi; brothers, Ralph (Diane) Tressler and Gordan (Joanne Harmon) Tressler, sister, Karen Tressler, grandchildren, Taylor, Mason, Caiden, Jordan, Benjamin, and Liam; and many heart grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Tressler; brother, Michael Tressler; and sister, Kathryn Tressler.
On behalf of the Baha'i religion, burial will take place today, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 4PM at South Denmark Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 - 3 PM at DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Ashtabula Arts Center, the Allegheny College Choir, or the family.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 1 - 4 PM at the Ashtabula Arts Center, W 13th Ashtabula, OH 44004. In memory of Nik, Hawaiian shirts may be worn.
