Evelyn D Dubach
Evelyn Doris Dubach, passed away gently September 15, 2017 at the young age of 84.
Born March 4, 1933 in Bickmore West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late French and Leona (Holcomb) White. Evelyn came to Ashtabula, July 4, 1950 at the age of 17.
She worked at Yoder’s greenhouses for four years during which time she met her late husband, Walter Gunter, and they were married March 19, 1956. Evelyn and her husband owned and operated a well-known automotive upholstery business called Walter’s Auto Top until his death in December of 1975. Evelyn continued operating the business until her retirement in October of 1992.
She met her wonderful present husband, David Dubach, and they were married April 10, 1982 and continued to reside in Ashtabula.
Evelyn enjoyed gardening and maintaining the homestead property. She enjoyed nature and animals. She provided a home for many stray animals both wild and tame.
Evelyn was a faithful member of the East Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Ashtabula and dedicated her life to Jehovah by Water Baptism October of 1964. Her devotion and love for Jehovah and people, inspired her to volunteer many hours of service teaching people the word of the true god.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David Dubach; three sons, Walter (Elaine) Gunter of N. Kingsville, Dennis Gunter of Ashtabula, and Todd Gunter of Ashtabula; two step-daughters, Kelly (Jeff) Clemens of Florida and Evelyn Gunter of Lake Milton, Ohio; sister, Shirley Jean Ramsey of Charles Town, Ohio; and many grandchildren and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, French and Leona White; late husband, Walter Gunter; son, Paul Gunter; step-daughter, Virginia (Sam) Heakin; brother, Freddy White; and sister, Opal Walker.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 4:00pm; Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 5614 Poplar Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio with Elder Don Mack officiating. Calling hours will be held from 3:00pm until the time of service. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20 N. Kingsville.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Kingdom Hall of Jenovah Witnesses..
