Scott Allen Brown, of Kingsville, passed away unexpectedly at his home November 2, 2017, having attained the age of 60 years, 10 month, and 28 days.

He was born December 5, 1956, in Warren, Ohio the son of the late William A. Brown and Patty J. (Mittelstadt) Hepler. Scott graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1975. He was an honorable US Marine Corp Veteran serving his country working in Washington D.C as a White House Guard. He moved to Florida in 1984 where he lived and worked for 25 years. In 2009, he moved back to Ohio.

Scott worked at various companies in Florida, mainly in Shipping and Receiving. Upon returning to Ohio, he couldn’t work due to many disabilities he had from a car accident, strokes, and various health issues.

Scott was a gifted musician, playing bass guitar and lead guitar. He could listen to a song once or twice and be able to play it. He was in a number of bands over the years. He just loved music and it was a solace to him. He also had a very quick, sarcastic wit. He was a generous person. He was very quiet in public because he had a stuttering problem throughout his whole life which was even made worse when he got nervous.

He was also a very good cook. Some of his specialties were breaded perch, chicken paprikash and jambalaya.

Scott loved to watch “Days of Our Lives” which started way back living with our mom who loved to watch it. He also really liked to watch Bonanza, Two and a half men, Mike and Molly. Since he did have such limited mobility, watching TV was something he really enjoyed.

He was a lifelong member of the New Apostolic Church and most recently attended the Kingsville Congregation.

Scott is survived by his daughter, Jamie (Michael) Curtin of Layton, Utah, whom just gave birth to his first grandchild on Sunday, November 5, 2017; sisters, Cheryl (Lee) Freebourn of Austintown, OH, Patti (Ron) Simpson, Jeri (Keith Lemley) Brown, both of Vienna, Ohio; brother, Terry (Carol Witner) Brown of Las Vegas, NV; special aunt, Joan Hall of Erie, PA; and also, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Charles D. Hepler; maternal grandparents, Emil and Alma Mittelstadt; paternal grandparents, Glenn and Agnes Brown; nephew, Carl David Finlaw; and step-mother, Shirley Dubiaga.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2PM at the New Apostolic Church, 5802 Cemetery Rd., North Kingsville, Ohio 44048, with Priest Roger Stancliff officiating. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from noon until the time of service at 2PM.
