Gabrielle Ruth Sumner

Conneaut – Gabrielle Ruth Sumner, 50, longtime resident of the Ashtabula County Residential Services, “The Maple’s” in Conneaut passed away after a courageous fight with cancer.
She was born on April 27, 1967 in Cleveland the daughter of Bruce and Kathryn (Werle) Sumner.
Prior to working at A. Louis Supply, Gabrielle worked in a nursing home in Windsor and then at Ashcraft Industries for many years.  Gabby retired from A. Louis Supply after 22 years of dedicated service.
She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics, where she competed in bowling and track. She was very proud of her numerous ribbons, metals, and trophies. Gabby loved NASCAR, especially Jimmy Johnson. She was the “Big Sister” to her best friends with whom she made her home at the Maples and was loved dearly by the staff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a dearly beloved and dearly misses brother Kirk Sumner. Gabby is survived by her brother, Gardner Sumner; and her extended family of the Maples.
A Celebration of Gabby’s life will be held, Friday, 17, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula. Complete obituary available at
