Bernice Lane

Bernice Lane, 90, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at UH-Portage Medical Center. She was born on January 17, 1927 in Warsaw, Poland the daughter of Michael and Mary Rynda. Bernice was a Holocaust survivor and moved to Ashtabula in 1950.

Mrs. Lane was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the VFW #943 Women�s Auxillary. She loved to cook, and enjoyed making cabbage rolls for the post dinners, as well as borscht, keesh and pierogies. Bernice loved to listen and dance to Polka music and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Frank (Carole) Lane and Roy Lane, Jr.; grandchildren, Nikki Lane and Adam Lane, Roy (Amanda) Lane, III, Crystal (Dan) Cain, Colton Hill, Tina Hozian and Myah Lane; three great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Roy C. Lane in 1984; sisters, Nellie and Sahsa; and a brother Stanley Rynda.

Calling hours will be held Friday, December 22, 2017 from 5PM-7PM at Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, where funeral services will follow at 7:00PM with Rev. Fr. Edward Gretchko, of St. Mary�s Catholic Church, Massillon , officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in care of Ducro Funeral Home.
