CLEVELAND - Revondia Bates. 54, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic after complications from lung transplant surgery.
The daughter of Johnny and Odessa (Rhodes) Hunter, Revondia was born in Asheville, NC on August 15, 1963. Revondia moved to the Ashtabula area as a young child and graduated from A-Tech Vocational School.
Revondia was employed with Metal Sales, Inc. for fifteen years as an Administrative Assistant prior to her retirement.
Revondia and Edwin “Yogi” Bates were united in marriage on October 10, 1981. They created many memories during their marriage of thirty six years. Those memories are treasures of the heart.
Revondia was very active in the lives of her daughters, she was a bowling team coach and Girl Scout Leader and she was also a pageant mom. Revondia encouraged her daughters to participate in and enjoy many hobbies and sports. In later years they found time to take winery tours and enjoyed that time spent together.
Revondia enjoyed the company of her pets, Darby and Rosie, Rosie has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is dearly missed.
A wonderful, sister, wife, mom and loving Mimi, Revondia was always generous with her time and her love for friends and family. She is the most wonderful Mimi ever.
Revondia is survived by her husband, Edwin “Yogi” Bates of Ashtabula; daughters, Courtney and Michael Henderson of NC, Cassandra and Mark Roth also of Ashtabula; beloved granddaughters, Rubi, Izabella, Evelyn, and Adeline, brothers, Michael Schultz and Robert and Norma Schultz both of NC; nieces and nephews.
Revondia was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Hunter, Odessa and Robert Schultz; siblings, Williams Schultz and Tina Schultz.
Visitation will be held from 4:PM to 6:PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Ducro Funeral Home, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio.
